Pressure Ulcer Prevention Training Sites
The Pennsylvania Restraint Reduction Initiative (PARRI) under the Department of Public Welfare has been working with nine Pennsylvania facilities to develop programs to reduce the number of facility-acquired pressure ulcers, and become official Training Sites to act as resources for other facilities in their geographic areas. PARRI nurse educators provided interdisciplinary in-service training to staff at all levels and for all shifts in helping them to utilize tools in the assessment, and on-going work with the implementation and evaluative processes, with facilities having met with positive results. The facilities involved in this Prevention of Pressure Ulcers program will began acting in resource and training capacities in September, 2008. If interested in attending a training session, please contact the PARRI regional coordinator for your area.
