Physical
Restraint Reduction Training Sites
Since its inception in
the fall of 1996, the Pennsylvania Restraint Reduction Initiative
(PARRI) has utilized a train-the-trainer model to supplement the
dissemination of critical learning and information on restraint
reduction to facilities across the Commonwealth.
To date,
there are 21 nursing home partners - facilities who have eliminated
the use of physical restraints and are officially recognized as
physical restraint reduction training sites by the Initiative.
PARRI training sites have been given support and technical assistance
by the training team prior to becoming a training site. As a training
site, they offer free educational sessions to neighboring facilities
that focus on core philosophy, program development, and training
requirements.
